Overview
Join us on 14 May at the 外网天堂 for the RCPsych Digital Psychiatry SIG Spring Conference.
This conference brings together clinicians, researchers, technologists, and industry partners for an interactive exploration of cutting-edge digital tools transforming modern psychiatric care. Designed as a highly social and hands-on event, the afternoon showcases practical innovations, facilitates meaningful conversations, and builds a shared vision for the future of digital mental health.
Programme
Session 1 Showcasing Emerging Digital Solutions
The programme begins with three focused presentations, each highlighting a novel digital approach to improving psychiatric assessment, treatment, and service delivery:
- Virtual Clozapine Wards: A look at how virtual ward models can support safe, efficient clozapine initiation and monitoring in the community, reducing patient burden, enhancing clinical oversight, and optimising workflows.
- Real-Time Monitoring and Relapse Prevention for Severe Mental Illness: An introduction to a digital platform that delivers continuous symptom monitoring and early-warning detection to support people living with severe mental illness.
- DIVE-OCD: AI-Generated Immersive Stimuli for Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) A research presentation exploring the feasibility and safety of using AI-generated immersive environments to support ERP therapy for obsessive-compulsive disorder. Attendees will gain insight into how immersive digital stimuli may enhance personalisation, engagement, and therapeutic precision in OCD treatment.
Session 2 Interactive Demo Stations: Technology in Action
Following the presentations, attendees will transition into an open, hands-on expo featuring live demo stations. Developers, clinicians, and researchers will showcase working digital platforms, including monitoring tools and virtual therapeutic environments to an AI-enhanced clinical workflow and others, allowing participants to:
- Try technologies first-hand
- Ask questions directly to creators and implementation teams
- Explore opportunities for collaboration
- Build networks across clinical, academic, and digital innovation communities
This interactive segment is designed to encourage informal discussion and spark new ideas for real-world adoption.
Roundtable Discussion: Regulation, Funding, and the Future of Digital Mental Health
The day concludes with a multi-stakeholder roundtable bringing together voices from:
- NHS clinical leadership
- Academia
- Industry and digital health companies
- Venture capital and innovation funding
- Policy and regulatory experts
This session will focus on the practical realities of bringing digital mental health solutions into routine practice. Topics such as regulation, safety frameworks, procurement pathways, funding models, and strategies for sustainable innovation will be covered. Panellists will share lessons learned, challenges ahead, and opportunities to accelerate responsible digital transformation across mental healthcare.
